You Can't Measure Spiritual Enlightenment in Material Things.

Let me tell you what healing looked like for me.

It looked like turning inward and becoming more spiritually aware. I was stripped of everything and when I say everything, I mean everything. Yet, when I look back, what I gained through those 14 years weighs far more than what I lost.

Remaining celibate wasn’t about waiting for the “right one” to come along. It was about learning how to be comfortable in my own company. It taught me that the love I deserve is rooted in the love I am willing to give myself.

I learned discernment. I learned to trust my intuition when making decisions because when we allow other people to make our choices for us, we surrender our power to them.

The wisdom I’ve gained and the experiences I’ve lived have become the tools I use to navigate my journey. I’ve learned that spiritual growth isn’t always comfortable.

Sometimes, becoming more enlightened requires you to surrender something while you are in the process of becoming who you were meant to be.

I hear people talk about spiritual enlightenment all the time, but I often wonder: What did you have to surrender to gain the wisdom you now claim to possess?

Because true spiritual growth, in my experience, isn’t something you simply acquire on the material level. You can accumulate money, degrees, titles, followers, and influence, but what have you cultivated within yourself? What has changed on the spiritual level?

Jesus performed miracles, and yet we live in a world where pastors, gurus, and spiritual teachers often speak about extraordinary spiritual power without demonstrating anything comparable. I’m not saying this to diminish anyone’s faith or spiritual journey; I’m questioning what we truly mean when we say we are spiritually enlightened. And let me be clear: accumulating wealth, possessions, or material success does not, by itself, make someone spiritually enlightened.

I believe we were created in God’s image, which means the potential to connect with something greater than ourselves is part of our birthright. But having access to that potential and knowing how to access it are two different things.

For me, the journey has been about learning how to access that deeper connection through surrender, discernment, solitude, self-love, wisdom, and experience.

Spiritual enlightenment isn’t just about what you know, It’s about what you had to become to know it.
